Scott was the Executive Director of the Small Publishers Association from 2003 until March 2011. His background is in marketing and nonprofits. Scott is currently the Vice President of About Books, Inc. a custom book design and production working with authors and publishers.

Brian JudBrian Jud, Executive Director

Brian is an author, book-marketing consultant, seminar leader, television host, President of Book Marketing Works and a partner in Premium Book Company that sells books to non-bookstore buyers on a non-returnable, commission basis.

 Brian is the author of How to Make Real Money Selling Books (Without Worrying About Returns) and Beyond the Bookstore - a Publishers Weekly® book), a primer on non-bookstore marketing. He has written and published five titles on career transition that are distributed internationally, and is the author of the eight ebooklets with Proven Tips for Publishing Success. And Brian is creator of the series of Book Marketing Wizards and editor of the bi-weekly newsletter, Book Marketing Matters.


Brian conducts semi-monthly book marketing webinars and is a speaker in the series of Masters of Marketing seminars held in cities around North America. He was the host of the television series The Book Authority that has aired over 650 shows. In addition, he is the author, narrator and producer of the media-training video program You're On The Air. He also wrote and published its two companion guides, "It’s Show Time" and "Perpetual Promotion".


He was an adjunct lecturer of sales and marketing courses for graduate and undergraduate students at the University of Hartford and the University of Connecticut. Brian has a BS degree in Marketing from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA in Marketing from Xavier University. He is also the founder of the Connecticut Authors and Publishers Association.

Guy AchtzehnGuy Achtzehn is the president of the Promotional Bookstore and founder of the Marketing and Sales Group, a company he formed over 20 years ago selling products as premiums, incentives and ad specialties to buyers in corporation, small businesses, associations, schools, government agencies, hospitals and other prospective buyers. He has represented Simon & Schuster and Random House titles.


Cevin BryermanCevin Bryerman is Publisher and Vice President of Publishers Weekly, the well-known international trade magazine for book publishing.


Bob ErdmannBob Erdmann, Columbine Communications & Publications founder and president, has a distinguished publishing career spanning five decades which includes all phases of book publishing. More than half of his long tenure in the publishing industry has been as consultant to literally hundreds of publishers of every size and shape. His clients have ranged from small, one-book, self-published authors to very large conglomerate publishing houses. The earlier part of his long life in publishing saw him in senior management, executive capacities with well-respected, high-profile publishing companies where his creative innovations in every element of book publishing brought about countless successes.


Tonya EvansTonya M. Evants , is Associate Professor of Law at Widener University School of Law (Harrisburg campus) and an attorney specializing primarily in the areas of entertainment law (literary, music and film) and intellectual property (copyright and trademark).

She is a nationally recognized speaker who presents to various audiences regularly on publishing and intellectual property law issues.

She is a former Chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Sports, Entertainment and Art Law Committee, and has served as an adjunct professor of copyright, publishing and licensing at York College of Pennsylvania.

Tonya, known affectionately as “Lawyer by Day, Poet by Night” is also a performance poet, singer and writer, and the author of numerous books, including Contracts Companion for Writers, Copyright Companion for Writers, Literary Law Guide for Authors: Copyright, Trademark, and Contracts in Plain Language, Seasons of Her and SHINE! Her short story, Not Tonight, appears in an anthology titled Proverbs for the People, published by Kensington.


Eric Kampmann Eric Kampmann is a veteran innovator and entrepreneur in the publishing and book-distribution industry, and his career is packed with significant milestones. An author himself of four books, he’s founded and presides over several companies. He is president of Midpoint Trade Booksundefinedone of the leading sales companies representing hundreds of publishers. He’s president and owner of Beaufort Books, which reached national recognition in 2007 by publishing the controversial bestseller, If I Did ItundefinedO.J. Simpson’s autobiographical account of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.


Rudy Shur Rudy Shur the founder and publisher of Square One Publishers began his work in publishing as a field representative for Charles E. Merrill Publishing Company and William C. Brown Publishing Company, where he ranked as a top salesman in each sales force. In 1976, Mr. Shur and his partners founded Avery Publishing Group. Over time, Avery was developed into a successful mid-size firm, achieving market dominance in the field of alternative health books. In 1999, Avery was sold to Penguin Putnam Inc. Square One Publishers began as a dream of Mr. Shur, who is enjoying the opportunity to once again achieve success in the publishing arena.
